It’s been a while since Lark Voorhies played spoiled teen Lisa Turtle on “Saved by the Bell,” and according to many of her loved ones, a lot has changed in her life.
The actress, now 38, recently was stopped by TMZ for an interview, in which she acted rather oddly, often speaking incoherently or gazing off in the distance mid-sentence.
But Lark’s mother, 64-year-old Tricia Voorhies, has an explanation. Her mother claims that Voorhies suffers from bipolar disorder, a claim her daughter denies.
“They can’t explain it. They can’t treat it. They don’t know about it,” Lark said, referring to whatever was causing her to behave strangely.
Lark now lives with her mother, but only has a few friends. Her mother said the end of “Saved By the Bell” in 1993 and a 2001 divorce both had adverse affects on her daughter, which “caused a kind of break.”
Lark, however, accounts her strange behavior to spiritual belief. ”I have a strong spiritual sense. You caught me in moments of pray [sic].”
This is so sad. I hope Lark gets much needed help.
